Summary of Investigation - We used emf, digital cameras, digital recorders, and video to try to capture evidence of a haunting in Baton Rouge’s oldest cemetery. Evidence Reviewed On – 9/3/06 Evidence Results: Audio – Possible EVP but unable to determine if it is legit or if it is only someone in the neighborhood yelling. Images – There was an orb found in Meghan’s pictures. Video – Not available Thermometer – Nothing Unusal EMF – Nothing Unusual Additional Comments: While at the cemetery, there was an incident with a gated area, and the gate itself. When we arrived at midnight, the gate was open. Several of our investigators even went in there to take video, pictures, etc. However, around 12:30am one of our investigators noticed it was closed, and asked who closed it. None of us had done this. We tried to recreate it and debunk it by opening the gate as it was. This was done to see if it would close again on its own as some doors and such do, out of their own sheer weight and gravity. However, we found that it took the force of someone’s hand to do so. Another thing we noticed is that the gate itself made no noise when closing. Upon reviewing the evidence, I also found that the pictures and the audio I captured, coincided with the time the event occurred. According to the image times, and the audio time when we noticed it, the gate closed approximately 4 minutes before we noticed it. Someone closed that gate, and it was not any of us. Another incident that occurred was with my camera. I had just put freshly charged batteries in and a few moments later, they were dead. Something drained them completely in minutes. I put new batteries in and it was fine. About the evp –We are unable to determine if it was an actual spirit or someone in the neighborhood yelling. Reason being that there had been a football game that night and there were a lot of after parties in the area and there were people yelling and making noises off and on throughout the night. In addition, some of the audio one of our investigators captured was muddled, for some reason it did not come out clear, so we could not use it. Investigation Conclusion – This case is inconclusive for several reasons. 1. The only evp we caught is not distinguishable between a person in the distance or an actual spirit. 2. Some of our audio was not understandable and therefore not usable. 3. The only other evidence we caught was an orb. 4. The gate closing continues to elude us. 5. Something drained the batteries in my camera immediately. Follow Up Plans – Due to the above-mentioned reasons, we plan to do a follow up investigation here. This is in the hopes that we can obtain closure on this investigation and conclude this case. |
