| Summary of Investigation – This was an investigation of a hotel in New Orleans, LA done on May 17, 2008. No personal experiences were had in any of the rooms other than the courtyard and room 3. When we took a male Caucasian member into the room to investigate he began to feel sick and dizzy. Three of our female members who investigated in there all felt as if they were being choked. One of them also felt it in the courtyard and that her legs felt like rubber. In addition 2 of the female investigators investigating in that room had the feeling that someone was behind them and it wasn't happy. They both turned at the same time and realized they shared each other's feeling of being watched by whatever it was. Given what we later learned of the history we believe that it wasn't trying to scare us but rather it was just trying to communicate about what happened. Sometimes spirits have trouble communicating with the living and when they try often people get frightened off. Luckily we are use to this and didn't. A Brief History Recap: As many know in this time women of mixed race were sought after by Caucasian men for mistresses. One in particular was being wanted after by several Caucasian men. She went to Marie Lauveaux asking for a potion to make her unwanted or unattractive by these men. Marie Laveaux asked if she was certain this is what she wanted and the girl agreed. So she told her to meet her in the courtyard. Once the girl arrived there Marie Laveaux gave her a potion. This potion was the equivalent of what we know of today as a “date rape drug”. It made her very woozy, and helpless. We then learned the horrific details that this poor girl was “gang raped” by the very men she was trying to avoid. When she awoke she was so distraught and humiliated she hung herself in the courtyard near room 3 where we had all our experiences of being choked, and our male Caucasian investigator felt ill. We did know anything of the history about this until after we investigated. This is when we discovered how well it coincided with what we experienced. Evidence Reviewed On – May 18, 2008 - May 24, 2008 Evidence Results: Audio – Three evps which were captured were in room 34. They were recorded one after another. Please note that there were no men in the room when these were recorded. In the first one you hear one of our investigators ask our guest sensitive if she is getting "anything right now." Then in the background you hear what sounds like a man almost in a singing voice say "I'm here." Right after this takes place you hear the sensitive describe what she "sees". Immediately following this our investigator asks the sensitive if she can have him turn on the lights, or off the lamp. Right after she says this you hear a laugh and then a man says "lights on, lights off". As if he was joking around with her. Investigation Conclusion - After reviewing everything and given what we experienced I can say that I believe The Creole House to definitely have paranormal activity, but I don't feel that any of it is threatening. The man in room 34 was actually joking around with the investigators and gave off a friendly vibe. The female spirit wasn't trying to scare us so much as to tell us what happened to her. I don't think she would do this with just anyone. She only felt she could with us because we were there asking questions and telling her that we wanted to try to communicate with her. Follow Up Plans - We are going to do an investigation of the owner's other hotel in July. As for this hotel I believe it would be nice to investigate there again and focus on certain areas. |
